| About AVER LIEKERS history and musicians | ||
![]() AVER LIEKERS | AVER LIEKERS was founded in 1979 by Walter Peetz. Their first performance under that name was in March 1979 in the Raucherei in Kiel, a concert for Nicaragua. Of the current line-up, besides Walter, Sigrid and Peter were in the original group. Up to the middle of 1986 AVER LIEKERS was one of the successful North German folk groups with concerts in Germany and abroad, several recordings and many radio and television appearances. In 1983 the group met Hein Hoop. They gave many joint performances over the following years. For reasons connected with jobs and careers the group broke up in 1986. In the late 90s Walter began to do occasional readings from Hein Hoop's works. In summer 2003 he was invited to a Hein Hoop evening in Dithmarschen. During this event, which Sigrid and Peter also took part in, the idea for a Hein Hoop program was born, and realized the following year with the assistance of two new band members, Brigitte and Kay. It was important for the group to create new musical settings for all the pieces chosen for the program. Most of the instrumental pieces are also AVER LIEKERS compositions. So a varied symbiosis between readings, songs and instrumentals developed. | Neujahrswalzer (mpg3) | On request AVER LIEKERS can present their program in English or Danish. |
